German static model

A German static model is available. The archive voxforge_de_simon-2010-04-20.tar.bz2 (license: GPL) contains the files hmmdefs, macros, stats, and tiedlist.

Let’s take a look into simon > Settings > Configure simon... > Model Settings:

static-model

It should be possible to load exactly these four files (hmmdefs, macros, stats, and tiedlist) into simon.

Questions:
1. Is it necessary to import Ralf's German dictionary, too?
2. Is it necessary to define a grammar?
3. Does recognition work out of the box when I load the files hmmdefs, macros, stats, and tiedlist into simon?

    Hi!

    To answer your questions:
1.) Not if you don’t want to create scenarios for the models. If you just download and use existing ones, no.
I’ll try to provide some scenarios for it (tagged [DE/VF]) here: http://kde-files.org/index.php?xcontentmode=692

2.) That is contained in the scenarios

3.) Yes. It’ll probably work really well for you personally as you donated that much speech.

    Peter
