Import German Voxforge model

Here is how I import the German Voxforge model:

1. Download voxforge_de_simon-2010-04-23.tar.bz2, and extract the files.

2. Start simon. Settings > Configure simon... > Model Settings > General > Model type: Static model. Load
- HMM definition: /home/ubuntu/Documents/201005/voxforge-de-simon/hmmdefs
- Tiedlist: /home/ubuntu/Documents/201005/voxforge-de-simon/tiedlist
- Macros: /home/ubuntu/Documents/201005/voxforge-de-simon/macros
- Stats: /home/ubuntu/Documents/201005/voxforge-de-simon/stats
Press the Apply button. Press OK.

3. Press Manage scenarios. Select Import > Download.

add-on-installerI want to install [DE/VF] Tastatur.

tastatur4. The [DE/VF] Tastatur scenario has been selected. Press the OK button.

5. Applications > Universal Access > ksimond.

6. Press the simon Connect button. simon displays Connected and Activated.

7. Open a gedit window, and speak into the microphone. Take a look into [DE/VF] Tastatur. I dictated a few words that occur in the list (Zeitung, Musik, Tisch, Sonne), and nothing happened. Then I dictated "Tastatur anzeigen", and the following window appeared:

tastatur-anzeigenIt is working: When I speak "Apfel" (cursor is in the gedit window), then the letter "a" appears.

8. It is necessary to publish detailed tutorials about the different simon scenarios.

9. When the cursor is in the gedit window, and I speak Dach, then the letter d appears in the gedit window. But when I speak acht (number 8 in German), then the number is typed into the simon Num pad. So numbers appear in the simon Num pad, but normal letters appear in gedit. Interesting.

10. I hope that a future version of simon will offer something like a simonPad.
