A few days ago, I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex).

Upgrading to Ubuntu 8.10 is pretty comfortable
Problem 1: bluetooth
I don’t have any bluetooth devices. But it took a few minutes when the upgrades were installed to search for bluetooth devices. I had problems with Ubuntu searching for a non-existent bluetooth device before. But when I switched the USB flash drive to a different port on the USB hub, the installation continued. So this was small problem during the upgrade.
Problem 2: clipping
After the upgrade, I get a lot of x-runs (clipping) when playing a DVD (encrypted). The sound doesn’t sound good. I am trying to find a solution. Currently, I have a similar problem under Windows XP. I don’t like it: Playing DVDs without any errors doesn’t work any more under Win XP and Ubuntu. I hope to find a solution. At least, one system should work. But I don’t want to reinstall Win XP because there is the saying “Never touch a running system”. And my Win XP system is running quite well (with the exception of the sound clipping when playing an encrypted DVD).
Problem solved: copying images from digital camera
Under Win XP, it is pretty comfortable to move images from my digital camera (Canon PowerShot A400) to the computer. Under Ubuntu 8.04, this wasn’t possible. But now, after the upgrade to Ubuntu 8.10, it is possible to copy images from the digital camera via USB to the hard drive.
